Self Assessment

Your self assessment tax bill has to be paid by 31st January following the end of the tax year.

You may also be required to make payments on account which are paid in two instalments – the first on the 31st of January following the end of the tax year and the second on the 31st of July.

Corporation tax

Corporation tax must be paid 9 months and 1 day after the end of your accounting period.

VAT

Your VAT bill must be paid by the date shown on your VAT return. If you pay your VAT liability by Direct Debit this will be taken 10 days after the end of the month following the quarter-end date.

PAYE

Your PAYE tax bill needs to be paid by 22nd of the next tax month if you pay monthly or 22nd after the end of the quarter if you pay quarterly. If you are making the payment by cheque it must reach HMRC by the 19th.
